Driving Local Creative Intellectual Property (IP) Towards A Larger Scale

KUALA LUMPUR: Harnessing the rising development of the digital content market, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has allocated grants worth RM850,000 through its on-going 2018 Intellectual Property Design Creators Challenge (IPCC). Set to entrench the nation’s creative content industry within the intellectual property landscape, the IPCC is a creative content competition which commenced in 2006, as a catalyst for local talents to penetrate the local and global digital content market.
Open to amateurs and professionals from the creative multimedia industry, the competition is assembled into two rounds of pitching to a panel made up of creative industry leaders. The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Vice President of Technology and Content, Hasnul Hadi said, “This year a total of RM850,000 IPCC grants are offered by MDEC for industry players who want to develop their ideas and talents to the professional level. He continued that, “IPCC is not merely a matter of grants, but participants are also assisted by successful mentors in the industry.”
